| ARANIA Dark Queen |

The movie Enchanted was my inspiration for Arania (a play on the spanish word for spider) She is a 16" stump doll with
articulated hands and long plastic red painted fingernails. Face is painted with acrylics, pencils and pens. Her cape which
doesn't photograph well, is iridescent webs of blue and pink. Her hair is made of long fake fur.

A request for a photo shoot of me making dolls inspired these African Dolls. Doing some pre-work to expedite the picture taking
resulted in 3 dolls. One went home with the photographer. These stump dolls are 14 inches tall, with painted faces acrylics,pencils
and pens. Hair is made of an unraveled sweater, which makes wonderful ethnic hair.

I made 2 heads while designing Arania, so a "sister" was born who is quite the opposite. Sunnie is all bright colors.
The same pattern, just a different take. As often happens, the fabric was what determined the demeanor of this doll.
